About the Property
Tarangire Simba Lodge, located near Tarangire National Park's Sangaiwe Gate, offers a stunning safari experience in a wildlife-rich region with unobstructed views of Lake Burunge. This lodge, opened in 2015, features sixteen classic thatched tents and is home to diverse wildlife, including lions, zebras, and a profusion of bird species. By creating a buffer between the park and nearby village areas, the lodge plays a crucial role in conservation and minimizing human-wildlife conflict. During the dry season, guests have the opportunity to observe elephants, giraffes, and other animals at a waterhole near the lodge, and easy access to the park enhances the safari experience.
Food & Drink
At the lodge, meals are prepared with a focus on continental cuisine using the finest local ingredients, and an emphasis on healthy options, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Daily-baked fresh bread is a staple. Breakfast features coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereals, fruits, and a choice of muffins or pancakes, with the option for made-to-order eggs, bacon, and sausage. Lunch includes a selection of quiche, pizza, salads, or heartier options like curry and rice. Dinner is a four-course buffet, with vegetarian soup, salad, two main courses (rotating between fish, beef, pork, lamb, and chicken), along with rice, potatoes, and fresh steamed vegetables. Special dietary needs such as gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options can be accommodated with prior notice. Afternoon tea offers a variety of beverages and cakes or cookies. Meal times are well-scheduled, providing guests with flexibility and a variety of dining choices throughout the day.
