About the Property
Rubondo Island Camp, the sole establishment on Rubondo, Africa's largest island national park, offers a unique sanctuary overlooking Lake Victoria, enveloped by tropical forests and inhabited by chimpanzees, elephants, giraffes, and a diverse avian population. Guests can savor al fresco meals on the main deck with a beachfront view, enjoying the luxury of sandy toes. The eight waterfront, thatched-roofed cottages, including one designed for larger families, have been meticulously handcrafted using traditional methods and locally sourced materials. These cottages feature lofty ceilings and are adorned in natural hues that echo the serene lake and lush forest. Each cottage is equipped with en suite bathrooms boasting hot running water and modern flushing toilets. A charming terrace in front of every cottage provides an ideal perch for guests to observe the tranquil island life as it unfolds by the lakeside.
